Note[]

The name Psycho-Pirate has been used by super-villains with psychological themes. The original was Charles Halstead, an enemy of the Justice Society, who commited crimes based on different emotions. His successor was Roger Hayden, who wore a Medusa Mask that could manipulate the emotions of others. This mask had arguably driven him insane over the years, and he once switched places with James Highwater to escape it. Hayden was a member of the Secret Society of Super-Villains until Black Adam killed him during Infinite Crisis. The original Psycho-Pirate was created by Gardner Fox and Joe Gallagher, first appearing in All-Star Comics #23. (1945)
