History[]

Susan Semple was a a secretary at the Daily Planet who wished Superman would fall in love with her and marry her. When a crackpot scientist came to tell the paper he'd developed a way to give humans super-powers, she pretended to be a reporter and got the scientist to test the method on her. She ended up with advanced mental powers that enabled her to replicate many of Superman's feats. She began a campaign to become Superman's helper as the Girl of Tomorrow. When Superman refused, she admitted her mental powers and forced Superman into agreeing to marry her to stop her from revealing his secret identity. Superman found the powers would eventually wear off and stalled the marriage until they did so, at which point she forgot everything that had happened.
