The General was a man with a brilliant military brain. He believed he could have been another Napoleon. Having failed to achieve success in the military, he turned to crime, where he used his skills to outwit Superboy.
After Superboy had stopped some of the General's schemes, he turned his concentration to a 'war against Superboy'. He successfully destroyed all of Superboy's robots and his scientist assistant, the Brain, used a duplicator ray to create a Bizarro-Krypto, who lured Superboy's pet, the real Krypto, off Earth, and left him to be killed by a creature that sucked out lifeforce.
The General tricked Superboy and left him exposed to kryptonite, but Superboy used his unaffected powers to join bits of his broken Superboy robots together to make a new one, which rescued him. Meanwhile, Bizarro-Krypto decided not to let Krypto die after all. Superboy then put an end to the criminal career of the General and the Brain.
