Sev Tcheru was the leader of the Heroes of Lallor (sometimes referred to as 'Champions of Lallor'). Evolvo Lad's super-power was to assume the form of either an evolved, or a devolved version of himself. When he was evolved, his brain became larger and he became much smarter. When devolved, he was stronger and his body changed to resemble an ape.
The team was at one point exiled from the planet Lallor by a political extremist leader who feared their influence. During this exile, they first encountered the Legion of Super-Heroes, whom they at first entered into conflict with, but later became friends with.
After this, they occasionally assisted the Legion during great emergencies such as when the UP was invaded by Daxamites under the control of Darkseid.
