His horrified niece, Ann, went to the police, who summoned Batman. Vreekill smuggled one of the devices into State Prison, to free an army of criminals to work for him, but Batman prevented the mass breakout. Then he went to Vreekill's lab, where Vreekill, refusing to be taken alive, grabbed a live wire and killed himself. Pre-Crisis/Earth-Two
