A.I.-11 was created by the Acheronian scientist, Mardok. Mardok considered his creations expendable, but Darius cared for the outcasts. His mind was erased by Mardok and he was banished, eventually finding his way to Cairn. Because of the fractured memory, Darius came to believe that he was from Earth and was a simple farmer who was abducted by aliens.
He joined the R.E.C.R.U.I.T.S. and helped battle the rogue Jiv Reduu. Darius was the first recruit to die in battle when he was betrayed by teammate Ig'nea, who secretly worked for her father, Maximillian G'odd. One of Ig'nea's mercenaries, Varkan delivered a blow that beheaded Darius. Before he shut down, Darius asked Borb Borbb to return him to his homeworld, to his maker. Upon arriving on Acheron, a swarm of small androids immediately recognized Darius and began to repair him. Darius confronted his creator, Mardok, and when Mardok threatened all the robotic creations, Darius killed him. After that the other cybernetic lifeforms had no purpose, so Darius chose to remain on Acheron to help and guide them.
