As a child, D'kay D'razz took it upon herself to forcibly open the minds of her fellow Green Martians who could read minds but not be read by other Martians. She felt these "isolationists" had to be part of the collective mind so the race would all e telepathically connected. The process she employed was quick and painless, but for some fatal.
She proposed a strategy to purge the isolationists from Mars, but the Manhunters and the High Council declared her a threat and placed her in an underground cell with telepathic dampening. Above ground, the Martian race was destroyed by a telepathic plague.
For at least two hundred years she was alone until a transporter beam brought her to Earth.
Driven insane, she reverted to her Martian form, albeit heavily distorted with an extra mouth at her torso that manifested from her broken mind. She had also carved the Martian symbols of love and hate onto her body. She was desperate and obsessed to recreate the Martian race with J'onn to the point where she even attempted to kill Miss Martian because she perceived a threat to her claim to J'onn. D'kay, however, failed to persuade J'onn to be hers once he discovered she was a psychopath and she subsequently forced J'onn to kill her by flying her into the sun.
