Rokk Krinn, a teenage former magnoball champion from the planet Braal, left his homeworld for Earth to find work. On the journey he met Garth Ranzz from Winath and Imra Ardeen from Titan. On arriving at Earth, the three acted together to save billionaire RJ Brande from being assassinated. A grateful Brande was impressed with the three youngsters, and suggested they form a team of superheroes, pointing out that the legendary Superman had begun his career as a boy. So the Legion of Super-Heroes was born. Rokk took the name 'Cosmic Boy', and became the team's first leader, gathering additional members to boost the team.
In later years, Rokk suffered tragedy when his mother, Ewa Krinn was killed in a fireballing incident, and also when his younger brother, Pol Krinn, who had joined the Legion as 'Magnetic Kid', sacrificed himself to save the universe from the Archmage.
