Canary had the amazing ability to psychokinetically cause technology to fail. She was a meek woman and totally under the thumb of Devil a powerful, blue-skinned woman with a pathological hatred of modern civilisation, technology and the Legion. But, for Canary's power to work, she needed a Naltorian precog to act as a human amplifier - so Devil kidnapped the Legionnaire Dreamer.
Devi's two other gang members, Arrow and Lantern, attacked President Winema Wazzo just as Canary caused technology to fail.
It took a combination of Dreamer, Timber Wolf and Chuck Taine and his Legion Cadets to finally defeat Devil and her gang, but the team's origin and motivation remained a mystery.
