Biding his time, he was a model prisoner until the day of his release. He turned on the guards once his restraints were removed. At least forty-two were killed before Bur'Gunza was brought down. Sometime later, Bur'Gunza was inducted into the Sinestro Corps. He was among the thousands on Qward during the capture of Green Lantern Kyle Rayner, and Rayner's forcible separation from the Ion entity. Parallax was then able to graft himself onto Rayner. Bur'Gunza's activities during the Sinestro Corps War have yet to be documented. Bur'Gunza was supposedly killed by Bolphunga The Unrelenting during the Sciencell riot, but this death can be of another reptilian member similar to Bur'Gunza, as he, along with Schlagg-Man, and other Sinestro Corpsmen were present on Korugar, ready to invade Qward after the Weaponer robbed Sinestro of his "dignity".
