Green Arrow trained a new boy how to shoot a bow and arrow. Later, Speedy learns that it was his classmate Jay Halleck. Believing that the Green Arrow was seeking to replace him as Speedy, Roy became depressed, but later learned he had nothing to worry about because, when he confronted Green Arrow, he found out that Jay was being trained to be a master archer so that he and his father could become crime fighters known as the Arrows of Alaska.
